Zoom is in-office bleaching which can get your teeth 6-8 shades whiter in approximately an hour. Tooth discoloration can happen due to several reasons: coffee, tea, smoking, red wine, sodas, etc. Dr.Chand will examine your teeth and gums to make sure Zoom will work for you.
The Zoom Procedure:
Your lips and gums are covered leaving your teeth exposed. Zoom whitening gel is applied which works with a light that aids the bleach in penetrating stains in your teeth and breaking them up. As your teeth are getting whiter in the chair, sit back, relax and watch your favorite tv show or movie.
It is imperative that newly bleached teeth do not come in contact with foods/drink that cause staining for 48 hours. Our rule of thumb is “If it can stain a white shirt, don’t have it”. This means for 2 days post-Zoom you should avoid coffee, tea, wine, sodas, pasta sauce, wearing red lipstick, smoking, etc.
One of the most common side effects of any bleaching is sensitivity. Don’t worry! This is common and usually goes away after a few days. Dr.Chand has several simple solutions to aid in relieving any discomfort you may have.
